It was three days after Daniel had been admitted to the hospital and Dr. Stevens had said he could be released that morning. He looked over at the cot where Methos lay sleeping and smiled to himself. The man had not once left his side since his arrival. It gave Daniel hope that maybe they'd work things out again. He thought of where they might go because Daniel didn't think he could go back to his apartment given that Methos had killed Jack there. He'd actually been looking to buy a house up in the mountains and wondered if he could convince Methos to stay with him there if he did so...

He was brought out of his thoughts as the door to his room opened and Dr. Stevens walked in, holding all of the paperwork that needed to be signed before Daniel could leave. The doctor glanced over at Methos and then at Daniel.

"Shall I wake him or did you want to do that?"

He rested his head there on Daniel's shoulder just breathing him in. He'd been so convinced he'd lose him. That Daniel would die with a tube down his throat just like Alexa.

"When did you want to go? Next week? Tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow? Really?" He looked at the older man curiously. "The sooner I get away from this town... this country... the happier I will be..."

"Then we'll leave tomorrow." he said with a nod, and a kiss.

"Thank you," he whispered softly, curling in closer to Methos, his eyes closing even as he tried to fight the exhaustion he was feeling.

"Welcome." he ran his hands through his hair that massaged his back, "Just go to sleep, love."

Daniel couldn't disobey that softly spoken order and easily found himself asleep in Methos' arms.

When he awoke the next morning it was to an empty bed and he panicked at first before he could smell food coming from the small kitchenette in the hotel suite. He sighed softly, calming himself before he slid out of bed, pulling on just his jeans before walking into the other room.

"Hey," he said softly, still rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he sat down on one of the stools.

"Made some toad in the hole and sausage." he smiled back at Daniel as he scooped up the toast with the cooked eggs in the middle of them and put them on two plates and brought them over.

Daniel chuckled at the odd language his lover chose to employ at times because he'd had no idea what his lover was describing until the plate landed in front of him and he smiled.

"Looks good," he said with a grin. "I'm going to need a shopping trip before we go to London," he said between one mouthful and the next. "I left most of my clothing at the villa in Morocco when I left. Told myself I'd go back one day... but never did get back there..."

He started to eat, "Alright, we'll go somewhere after breakfast."

"Besides, I seem to remember that shopping tends to make you very touchy-feely afterwards," he teased as he went back to eating.

"Hmm... so it does." he agreed with a smirk, finishing off his food.

Daniel laughed at that smirk, finishing off his own food as well before leaning over and kissing Methos softly.

"Thanks, love," he said quietly. "That was actually very good..."

"Actually?" he looked offended, but there was a smile on his face, "You were expecting different?"

Daniel smiled softly.

"Never, my love," he said quietly. "With you, there is only good."

"You think so much better of me, than I believe I could ever hope to be." he said, with a small smile.

"You make me happy," Daniel said quietly. "Isn't that enough?"

He made him happy when he was around. He just feared what would come next. What else might get in the way of their happiness. How he might hurt Daniel again, without ever meaning to.

Methos leaned over and kissed him, "Yes, sweetheart. It's enough."

He hoped to Gods it was enough.

Daniel smiled into that kiss before pulling away.

"Go get dressed and let me clean all this up since you fixed breakfast. Then you can help me pick out whatever I'm going to need for London and then I guess we can figure out when to leave, if it's to be today or tomorrow."

"I already bought tickets for a 9 o'clock flight this evening." he smiled, as he went to go get dressed.

"Well aren't you just on the ball this morning?" Daniel teased as he went to get things put away before moving back to the bedroom to watch his lover.

"I always am, love." he chuckled, pulling on a white wool sweater and a pair of blue jeans.

Daniel smiled, leaning in the doorway to watch him. "So, a quick shopping trip it is, then back here to rest and then on to the airport for an evening flight across the ocean as it were. I'm going to take a wild guess and say you booked us first class seats because I can't see you sitting in coach..."

"Oh, well, Dante wouldn't fly coach, that's for sure. Now, if I were still lowly poor graduate student Adam Pierson, that's what it would have to be." he smirked, as he zipped up his jeans.

Daniel laughed. "You're such a snob," he teased before walking further into the room, moving to stop in front of Methos, kissing him softly. "But I love you anyway..."

"And an arrogant pain in the ass, lets not forget that." he grinned, returning the kiss.
