It was three days after Daniel had been admitted to the hospital and Dr. Stevens had said he could be released that morning. He looked over at the cot where Methos lay sleeping and smiled to himself. The man had not once left his side since his arrival. It gave Daniel hope that maybe they'd work things out again. He thought of where they might go because Daniel didn't think he could go back to his apartment given that Methos had killed Jack there. He'd actually been looking to buy a house up in the mountains and wondered if he could convince Methos to stay with him there if he did so...

He was brought out of his thoughts as the door to his room opened and Dr. Stevens walked in, holding all of the paperwork that needed to be signed before Daniel could leave. The doctor glanced over at Methos and then at Daniel.

"Shall I wake him or did you want to do that?"

"Good," Daniel said quietly, his own luggage joining that of his lover before he slid into the backseat of the cab, waiting for Methos to join him so they could be away from this place. The quicker they got out of the country, the happier Daniel would be.

He quickly got in beside Daniel and then the cab was off, "So are there any other places you'd like to see in the U.K.?"

"I wouldn't mind touring Wales, going on into Scotland and maybe over into Ireland before we go to Switzerland at some point," he answered with a soft smile. "I'd spend my whole life touring countries with you if I could..."

"If that's what you want to do, then we'll do it." Methos smiled back.

Daniel smiled softly, leaning his head against the older man's shoulder, just content to be doing so for the moment. When they arrived at the airport, Daniel handed over his luggage to be checked in, keeping his laptop case with him as he waited for Methos to get them to whatever gate they needed to be at in order to board their flight.

Methos quickly checked there luggage then led Daniel through airport security and toward where their flight would be boarding in a few minutes, "It appears we arrived just in time."

"You are so good about such things," Daniel teased softly with a smile. "good thing you got us out of bed when you did so."

"Yes, good thing." he ginned kissing him lightly, before handing their tickets to the stewardess.

Daniel chuckled and followed him on board the plane to their seats, which were in the middle of the first class section. "Window or aisle?" he asked Methos quietly.

I'll take the aisle." Methos shrugged. He didn't care one way of the other, really. He let Daniel in and then sat down. It wasn't long before the flight attendant began going through the emergency instructions.

Daniel sat down and buckled himself in, not really paying too much attention, having heard it all before. He glanced out the window and wondered if he was going to miss anything about this place... but then he glanced over at the man sitting next to him and realized he didn't care. Home to him, now, was wherever he went with Methos as far as he was concerned.

Methos listened vaguely to the instructions, when he could feel Daniel's eyes on him to so he turned to look at him with a soft smile. Soon after the plane started to move away from the gate and toward the runway. He snaked his fingers in between Daniel's. He was so happy that he was still alive, relief and love filled him every time he looked at the other man.

Daniel smiled and leaned his head against Methos' shoulder as the plane took off. He brought his other hand around to rest against Methos' arm, just enjoying the quiet closeness they had for the time being.

"I love you," he whispered softly against the side of Methos' neck, kissing him gently before pulling back enough to just lay his head on his lover's shoulder once more.

"Love you too." Methos returned softly. It wasn't long into the trip, that his eyes drifted close and he was fast asleep.

Daniel easily fell asleep at Methos' side after asking for two blankets, covering his lover and then himself before falling asleep as well.

Methos woke a few hours later after a bit of turbulence. He looked over at Daniel who was still fast asleep and smiled. He kissed him on the forehead, before getting up to use the bathroom.

Daniel slept on, unaware of being left alone for however long Methos was away until he started coughing which woke him and struck him with a sort of panic/anxiety attack that kept him coughing even as he tried to catch his breath, looking around for his lover worriedly.

Methos was stepping out of the bathroom when he heard Daniel coughing, the flight attendant was already going to check on him, but he quickly called them off asking them to get Daniel some water. He rushed to take a seat next to him, "I'm here, love, I'm here."

He reached out to rub his back, soothingly.

Daniel gave a harsh, panicked sound as one of the attendants returned with a glass of water and Daniel held it for a moment before trying to drink some of it. The coughing slowed and finally subsided before Daniel, embarrassed at his own panic, buried his face against Methos' chest.

"I'm here, baby. I didn't mean to startle you." he ran his hand through Daniel's hair and kissed the top of his head.

"I'm sorry for panicking," he whispered softly against the older man's shirt. "I just... I started coughing and when I woke and I couldn't see you... I panicked. I'm sorry...."

"You've nothing to be sorry for. With what you've been through, you're doing remarkably well." Methos assured him, holding him close.

Daniel nodded, just staying as he was for now, not quite willing to give up the feel of Methos holding him just yet.

"How much longer do you think we have before we land?" he finally asked softly.

"Several more hours, likely." he said, "I believe they'll be serving food shortly."

Daniel nodded and slowly sat back up, still a little embarrassed at his earlier display as he quickly turned to look out the window, even though it was quite dark outside and there wouldn't be much to see anyway except water below.
