It was three days after Daniel had been admitted to the hospital and Dr. Stevens had said he could be released that morning. He looked over at the cot where Methos lay sleeping and smiled to himself. The man had not once left his side since his arrival. It gave Daniel hope that maybe they'd work things out again. He thought of where they might go because Daniel didn't think he could go back to his apartment given that Methos had killed Jack there. He'd actually been looking to buy a house up in the mountains and wondered if he could convince Methos to stay with him there if he did so...

He was brought out of his thoughts as the door to his room opened and Dr. Stevens walked in, holding all of the paperwork that needed to be signed before Daniel could leave. The doctor glanced over at Methos and then at Daniel.

"Shall I wake him or did you want to do that?"

Daniel smiled softly.

"Never, my love," he said quietly. "With you, there is only good."

"You think so much better of me, than I believe I could ever hope to be." he said, with a small smile.

"You make me happy," Daniel said quietly. "Isn't that enough?"

He made him happy when he was around. He just feared what would come next. What else might get in the way of their happiness. How he might hurt Daniel again, without ever meaning to.

Methos leaned over and kissed him, "Yes, sweetheart. It's enough."

He hoped to Gods it was enough.

Daniel smiled into that kiss before pulling away.

"Go get dressed and let me clean all this up since you fixed breakfast. Then you can help me pick out whatever I'm going to need for London and then I guess we can figure out when to leave, if it's to be today or tomorrow."

"I already bought tickets for a 9 o'clock flight this evening." he smiled, as he went to go get dressed.

"Well aren't you just on the ball this morning?" Daniel teased as he went to get things put away before moving back to the bedroom to watch his lover.

"I always am, love." he chuckled, pulling on a white wool sweater and a pair of blue jeans.

Daniel smiled, leaning in the doorway to watch him. "So, a quick shopping trip it is, then back here to rest and then on to the airport for an evening flight across the ocean as it were. I'm going to take a wild guess and say you booked us first class seats because I can't see you sitting in coach..."

"Oh, well, Dante wouldn't fly coach, that's for sure. Now, if I were still lowly poor graduate student Adam Pierson, that's what it would have to be." he smirked, as he zipped up his jeans.

Daniel laughed. "You're such a snob," he teased before walking further into the room, moving to stop in front of Methos, kissing him softly. "But I love you anyway..."

"And an arrogant pain in the ass, lets not forget that." he grinned, returning the kiss.

"But I like that about you," Daniel answered with a smirk before pulling back. "And we could keep trading barbs all day but it's not going to get the shopping done and I'd like a chance to rest before getting on an overseas flight if you don't mind, love."

"Can't sleep on the plane?" he teased.

"Maybe," Daniel whispered, nuzzling the side of his lover's neck softly. "You have something planned to keep me awake once we get back from shopping I take it?"

He smirked, kissing the top of Daniel's head, "Perhaps. And I do want something to tide me over. It will be a long flight, you know..."

Daniel gave a full laugh at that, shaking his head as he did so. "Oh I know," Daniel said, smiling at him. "Which means, old man, we need to get moving so we can get back here sooner.."

"Fair enough." Methos gave him one last kiss before pulling back to gather his things so they could go.

The shopping trip was far simpler than the one Amanda had taken them on in Morocco, but no less drawn out since Daniel found that his lover enjoyed dressing him up and watching him in the new clothes. Daniel finally had enough and called an end to the trip, wanting to get back to the hotel. Once there, Daniel went into the bedroom and actually began packing the new clothing into the also knew luggage, waiting for Methos to join him.

Methos only bought a few things, and took only a few moments to pack. He spent the rest of the time watching Daniel as he packed his things.

Daniel knew he was being watched and actually began moving more slowly to see if his lover would do anything about it, to help or to hinder his process.

He stepped closer, coming up from behind him, "Want some help, baby?"

Methos grabbed a few items, reaching from behind Daniel and putting them in the luggage, while he was pressed up behind him.

Daniel groaned softly and leaned back against his lover.

"Help might be good if you plan on speeding things up and not just slowing me down," he teased softly. "Didn't think the shopping trip was long enough for you get so hands on just yet..."

He placed his lips against Daniel's shoulder, mumbling into skin, "Can't help it...."

"I'm not complaining," Daniel answered softly, tilting his head to one side, clothes forgotten for the moment.
