Traveling again

Daniel finished out the semester at the university and informed them, with some regret evident, that he would not be returning for summer sessions and probably not in the fall either. He was happy with his decision because he wanted time with Methos. He'd taught for a year but the whole thing with Brian had bothered him a lot and he didn't really feel safe out in the open so to speak; not that he was going to tell that to his husband, though. He didn't want Methos to worry about him.

He left campus and headed to the coffee shop/bookstore that his husband was leaving in the capable hands of his store manager until they returned to Spain. Leaving the things from his office inside the car, Daniel stepped out and headed into the store, searching for his husband behind the counter. The place was incredibly busy, as usual. Daniel's smiled slipped a little. He hoped he wasn't being selfish by taking Methos away from this... maybe he should have given this more thought....

Daniel finally decided on chorizo, bell peppers, ground beef and black olives and set about to brown off all the meat and then moved to start chopping the vegetables. He smiled when he saw Methos watching him.

"Does all this look okay to you?"

"It looks excellent."

Of course he wasn't really looking at the ingredients, his eyes were locked almost solely on his husband.

Daniel caught that look and the intensity of it mae him shiver as he turned back to cutting up the vegetables. He had a few pre made pizza doughs in the freezer and he moved now to pull one out. Next he went into the pantry for sauce and then back into the fridge for three different types of cheese.

"Could you go get the grill started, love?"

He nodded, stepping closer to kiss him on the neck, "Of course, darling."

Then Methos turned round to make his way to the grill.

Daniel grinned at that and followed shortly after, cooked meat an chopped veggies in a bowl, cheese and pizza dough in the other hand. He set everything down on the patio table and went back inside to grab the special grill pan for the dough and made his way back outside to find the grill lit.

"Thanks," he told his husband, leaning over to kiss him softly.

"Welcome." Methos smiled, moving away from the grill to take a seat at the patio.

Daniel set everything to working on the grill, watching it carefully to keep anything from burning. After a few minutes, he looked back at his husband.

"Want to go find us some wine then to have with this?"

Nodding, he stood, then bowed dramatically, "I shall return."

The he turned on the balls of his feet back in the house to go to the wine cellar

Daniel chuckled softly and turned back to the pizza, adding a second helping of cheese towards the end and closing down the lid to let the last of the cheese melt.

He came back outside after several minutes with a rather nice bottle of Chianti in hand. He uncorked it and poured it into two separate glasses for each of them.

Daniel was just pulling the pizza off the grill when his husband returned. He smiled as he set the pizza down on the table and began cutting it into slices.

"Good choice, love. Hope you're hungry. I think I made this bigger that I'd planned."

"I'm always hungry, Daniel." he grinned from over the wine he was sipping.

Daniel actually blushed at that and shook his head as he served up two plates, handing one over to his husband before sitting down.

"So, you haven't yet told me where we are staying in Greece. Another surprise, my love?"

"The Avalon Boutique Suites." he said, he smirked, "In the Mythos suite."

He'd have to look that up after dinner. "Oh really? Named for you, possibly?"

He laughed, "I'm fairly sure it's just a coincidence. And one I simply couldn't bare to pass up. Granted it's one of the cheaper suites at the hotel, but it's cozy."

"Cheap or not, knowing you, it will be more than amazing." Daniel answered before turning towards the food and taking a bite of the pizza, waiting to see what his husband would say.

He took a bite out of his slice of pizza and made a pleased sound as he chewed, "Delicious as ever, love..."

"It's a good thing you're immortal, my dear husband, otherwise I have a feeling you'd be putting on weight thanks to the cooking on both our parts." Daniel leaned back a little in the chair. "Thankfully I have you working my ass off with the bokkens and such when I'm not teaching or else I'd have already put on too much weight."

Methos looked up at him, leering, "Yes, and what an ass it is..."

Daniel laughed and almost choked on the bite of pizza he'd taken before Methos had spoken. He shook his head, his cheeks no doubt burning with color.

"Someone's in a mood tonight," he teased, leering right back at his husband once he stopped coughing.

He grinned at Daniel's reaction, looking at him from over his pizza.

"I certainly am." he winked.

Daniel smile, shaking his head as he finished off one slice of pizza and reached for another.

"And just what kind of mood might that be?" he asked after a few minutes of quiet between them.

A slow grin spread across his face as he took his glass of wine and leaned back in him chair, leveling Daniel with a heated look, "I think you have a pretty good idea."

Daniel felt the heat from his face spread through the rest of his body at that look and swallowed hard against the tightness in his throat. Gods but he loved the affect his husband had on him like this.

"I do," he said softly, watching Methos intently. "And I'm just curious as to whether or not I should just give in to what I know you want or whether or not I should make you really work for it..."
