Two years later...

He woke to the feel of something hot and rough beneath his skin and a burning wind across the rest of his body. When he opened his eyes, he quickly closed them again when something stinging blew into them. He shivered and burned at the same time as he lay there. It grew hotter and the wind died down. He worked to open his eyes again and found it didn't hurt quite so much.

"Daniel..." a voice whispered nearby. Daniel. Who was that? Was that him? He didn't know. He looked around but didn't see where the voice was coming from. "Daniel... come... we are losing day light and we must hurry." He shook his head and sat up slowly, still looking to find the owner of that voice. It was soft, inviting, a feminine. As he pushed to his feet he felt something wrap around him and he blinked as he saw a woman standing before him. "Well, you're younger than I'd planned but no matter. You're healthy and whole once more. Your memory will return slowly but I know the old one will take care of you no matter what. He has grieved for your loss these two years. But he waits for you at your homestead. But we must hurry. Once the sun leaves the sky the temperature drops rapidly and you are not well dressed for such an environment."

"You called me Daniel. Is that my name?" The woman nodded as they began to walk through the desert sand. "Where are we?"

"I believe you call this place Egypt, Daniel. And we are going to your home where your husband is waiting for you."

"My... " he trailed off and frowned as if trying to remember who his husband was and how he'd come to have one. "I feel strange."

"It took me longer than I'd hoped to bring you back and I seemed to have somehow made you younger than you were when you last ascended. You still look the same for the most part but your body is almost fifteen years younger than it was when you came to us."

Daniel didn't say anything further to that, following the woman through the desert until they approached a rock wall with a gate. She led him through the gate and up the walkway towards a beautiful house.

"I live here?" he asked softly. The woman nodded as they reached the door. She knocked quietly then turned to Daniel.

"Be patient now, Daniel. He is coming... and he has missed you terribly..."

Daniel nodded slowly, his hand coming up to trace along his husband's face gently.

"You... you told me... right after we met the first time..."

He gave him a sad smile, "I did. Because I knew there was something about you, love, even then. I wanted you to know me..."

He hadn't ever told someone that much about himself having only known them a couple of hours.

"I'm sorry.... I didn't mean to interrupt this... It just, came to mind..." He leaned in to kiss him softly.

"You've nothing to apologize for." he said, kissing him back and then continuing to stroke him in earnest.

Daniel groaned softly, thrusting into his husband's hand once more.

"You're too good at this," he teased softly.

He smiled, then purred in response, "Got lots of experience.."

Methos slowly kissed his way Daniel's front then took just the tip of him in his mouth.

Daniel gasped sharply, laying back against the bed, his eyes closing as pleasure coursed through him at the way in which his husband seemed to know his body so well.

He took him just a bit farther into his mouth, his head bobbing and then he took him wholly into his mouth.

"Methos..." he gasped out harshly, arching up into his husband's mouth, his hands twisting into the sheets beneath him.

His eyes glanced up at Daniel, but he didn't stop, still holding him deep down his throat.

It was too much, too intense and Daniel came hard, spilling inside his husband's mouth as he did so.

Methos took him down, swallowing gladly. Once Daniel was down, he removed his mouth, then slowly crawled up his husband kissing up his stomach, then kissing him on the lips.

Daniel groaned into that kiss, tasting himself on his husband's lips. His hands slid up along Methos' back and gripped there tightly.

Methos smiled, finally breaking the kiss so that he could look in his husband's eyes, "I'm so very happy that you're back."

"I am so very glad that you waited for me," he whispered back, tracing his fingers along side his husband's face.

"I couldn't not." he said, leaning into his hand.

Daniel smiled and pulled him down closer. "I wish I cuold have found my way back to you sooner. I hate that you had to wait for so long..."

"That you came back was the important part. I would have waited centuries."

Daniel shifted to his side and just curled himself around his husband, content for the moment to be able to do so.

"Tell me something about our life together, Methos," he said softly. "Were we living here when I died?"

"We were in Spain." he was happy to hold Daniel, "Traveled while you were sick, them came here, so that I could bury you like you did me."

"Were we living in Spain full time before I got sick?"

"Yes. I owned a coffee shop. And you were teaching."

Daniel looked at him in surprise, smiling softly in wonder.

"I... I was teaching? Really?"

"You were. And you were quite good at it, love." he ran his hand through Daniel's hair as he spoke.

"Wow... I can't imagine teaching again... I never thought I'd be able to do so ...."
