Daniel sat there in shock, unable to really say anything for several minutes. Still quiet, he stood and walked into the study to retrieve what looked like a written report and, returning to the dining room, handed it to Methos.
"When I read his first paper, I thought he just..." he trailed off slowly. "I'm guessing that paper was written about his first wife... a young woman from the mid thirteen hundreds who was burned as a witch. Apparently she was an immortal as it says she was taken into custody when she appeared dead one day and alive the next. He was forced to watch it happen and could do nothing to save her. When I first read it, I thought perhaps he just had a vivid imagination. I never dreamed that it was... real."
