Getting Caught

Daniel had left Colorado feeling both content and torn. He missed Methos and he knew the older man would laugh at him for being so sentimental. He carried the glock everywhere he went, keeping it well hidden on himself. Even in the museum he kept it in a shoulder holster for fear that his teammates or someone worse might come looking for him.

He'd been in New York for almost two weeks when he started packing up to get ready to leave for Egypt. He'd already sent several boxes ahead and they'd be at his home there by the time he arrived. He packed up the last of Methos' journals in a duffel bag and slung it over his shoulder as he headed out of the museum and headed for the hotel where he'd been staying. He wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to his surroundings and therefore didn't realize he was being followed. He entered the Plaza hotel and made for the elevator which took him to the tenth floor. Stepping out of the elevator, he headed three doors down to his suite and swiped the card to unlock the door. Inside, he set the bag to one side, closed the door behind him and headed further into the room. He had just turned towards the mini-bar when pain exploded in his head and he was out cold.

When he woke, it was dark in the room except for a couple of low lights that weren't clsoe to him. He tried to move and realized he was bound to the bed. What the hell...

"Hello?"

"You know, it's taken me a while to figure out where the hell you disappeared to," came a familiar voice. "I don't like having to track you down, Daniel. You know I'm not a patient man."

"Screw you, Jack," Daniel growled out angrily. "I don't work for you or your government anymore. Now let me go and get the hell out of here before I forget we every had a friendship and I just kill you myself."

"Why Daniel... I think you're angry. Look, just... tell me what I want to know and all of this can stop. You have my word..."

Daniel shook his head. He didn't believe that for a moment. He should have just gone straight to the airport. For a brief moment, he wondered where Methos might be... or what he might do if he found Daniel like this...

"I you want the rest, feel free. But I wouldn't mind the company." he smiled.

Daniel slipped out of bed, pulling just his jeans back on and following Methos topside, enjoying the coolness of the nighttime air.

"It's beautiful out here at night..."

Methos nodded, looking up at the sky, as they walked to the wheelhouse, "Can see the stars much better here, than in New York."

"One thing of mine that I will miss," he said softly as he came up behind Methos, wrapping his arms around him and resting his chin on the elder's shoulder. "My telescope, especially out here where man-made lights won't hinder the nighttime sky...'

"Too bad Amanda's not one for stargazing." he noted, as he pulled up anchor and started the boat once more in motion.

"It's funny... some of the Immortals look to the stars for comfort. 'As immutable as the stars'. That while things down here change so quickly, the stars remain the same. Only, for me that's not the case. The stars look nothing like they did when I was a child."

"Five thousand years can change the stars and how they look to us. I'm not surprised they look different to you now than they would have as a child." He kept his arms wrapped around his lover as the boat began moving further into the ocean. "One of these days, when I have another telescope at my disposal, maybe you'll show me where things once were when you were a child."

[identity profile] really-oldguy.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
"I'd like that." Methos agreed, steering the boat, but glancing back at him with a soft smile. He pecked him on the cheek.

Daniel pressed in closer to his lover and rested his hands over the man's chest, feeling the heart beat beneath that broad chest.

"So would I, love."

[identity profile] really-oldguy.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
He rested back against Daniel, and one hand came to rest over the hands on his chest, "I can't wait."

Daniel smiled softly.

"So, tell me about where we're planning to live in Morroco... someplace away from a central city I hope? Some place where we can lay out on a back porch and search the stars at night, together..."

"I was thinking some place just outside of Tangier, near the Strait of Gibraltar where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic Ocean." he spoke wistfully, at the thought of it.

[identity profile] dr-dmjacksonsg1.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmmm... sounds like a beautiful place. I heartily agree with your plans."

[identity profile] really-oldguy.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
"As well you should. I've very wise." he smirked, teasingly.

[identity profile] dr-dmjacksonsg1.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
"And oh so modest," Daniel answered kissing the back of his lover's neck. "I am in need of coffee. Why don't I go make us some while you get us settled for the night."

[identity profile] really-oldguy.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Sounds wonderful." he agreed, relishing the feel of Daniel's mouth on his neck.

Daniel smiled and headed down below to the kitchen and started brewing coffee, sitting down on a bench seat while he waited.

[identity profile] really-oldguy.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
He drove in silence, just letting the wind blow across his face. He smiled to himself. Methos didn't know how long this experience would last. Perhaps longer than most, since Daniel was aware of his 'condition', but most assuredly not long enough. But he would take what he could get.

[identity profile] dr-dmjacksonsg1.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
In the small kitchen, the coffee was done and Daniel went back topside to let Methos know. The moonlight gave an almost otherwordly look to his lover and he was speechless as he watched the wind blow through the immortal's hair. However long of a life he had with Methos would be but a blink of an eye for the immortal... Daniel planned on making it as memorable as he could so that his lover wouldn't forget him.

[identity profile] really-oldguy.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Methos felt a pair of eyes on him and turned around to see Daniel watching him. He smiled at him, lightly, "Coffee ready, darling?"

[identity profile] dr-dmjacksonsg1.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Daniel chuckled softly.

"Something like that. You ready to drop anchor again?"

[identity profile] really-oldguy.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Hmm... yes, I think so." he nodded, and did just that before turned around to wrap his arms around Daniel.

"I finding I'm struck with a near constant desire to be touching you." he smiled, kissing him then nuzzling Daniel's neck.

[identity profile] dr-dmjacksonsg1.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"You will get no complaints from me," he whispered softly, tilting his head to one side, hand coming up to tangle into the back of Methos' hair, holding him close.

[identity profile] really-oldguy.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I won't let him near you again." he murmured into his shoulder. If he ever saw Jack again, he had every intention of killing him.

[identity profile] dr-dmjacksonsg1.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"I believe you," Daniel whispered softly, "and I trust you. I know I'm safe with you..." He wasn't worried about Jack getting hold of him again. He knew Methos would kill him first and somehow, that thought didn't even bother Daniel anymore.

[identity profile] really-oldguy.livejournal.com 2010-10-14 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
He held him closer, in silence. Then he pulled him into a passionate kiss.
